showing the differences in American and Austrailian:
Everyone in
Australia seems to wear flip-flops, or, as they are known here, thongs.
In the US, a thong is a different piece of the wardrobe entirely, a
rather sexy pair of underwear. Our
friend Brian was in the US and thought he’d buy some sandals for his two
daughters, so he walked in a store and said he’d like to buy thongs for his
daughters. The saleswoman looked askance at him and he continued, “I think
about a size 46?”
